The Toronto Community Care Access Centre has appointed Dr. Ivy Oandasan as Medical Advisor for the organization. This position was established in July 2001.
Dr. Oandasan is a family physician at the Univeristy Health Network - Toronto Western Hospital Department of Family and Community Medicine and Assistant Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
As Medical Advisor, Dr. Oandasan's goal is to improve the interface between physicians and the Toronto Community Care Access Centre.
The Medical Advisor's role is to:
- Provide advisory services to staff and advocate for clients.
- Provide education to community physicians on the services of the Toronto Community Care Access Centre.
- Collaborate in developing strategies to streamline administrative practices and improve service delivery to clients.
- Comment and advise on research and clinical/technological advancements and practices in the community.
